December 24, 2021
Like last year, 2021 was a time when people took to social media in order to feel more connected with each other.
As we wrap up another year, social media companies are again taking the opportunity to look back and report on what stands out from the past 12 months. Some are also providing predictions for what we can expect in 2022.
Below, find a quick rundown of all the “lookbacks” (and “look forwards”?) we think you should know about.
Enjoy!
Pinterest Predicts 2022 – Pinterest is a great profile for trend predicting: They say that 8 out of 10 predictions from 2021 came true! For next year, they’re seeing a future that includes trends like “Barkitecture,” Goth fashion revival, and curved designs in the home. Check out the full report here.
We wanted to lead off with the Pinterest report because we recently had the chance to hear personally from Zak Kirchner, the Head of Consumer Brand Research at Pinterest, at our December 2021 Social Media Show and Tell event!
