Websites can now do more with embedded Instagram content, and shared posts on Twitter are getting a makeover!
The enhancements include:
You can now not only embed Instagram posts on websites, but you can embed a preview of the entire profile with up to 6 of the most recent images included.
Let’s test this out with the Dooley Social Studio IG profile:

Not bad. :)
Now, a Tweet that includes a link to a public Instagram post will display an image preview. This will function as a “Twitter Card” with a thumbnail of the post. According to Insta, all types of posts except for Stories (for now) will be eligible, including Feed posts, like Photos, Videos, Carousels and Reels.
🎉 New Features 🎉We’ve rolled out some pretty fun new features this week that I wanted to share with you: - #IGPlayback - Reels Visual Replies - Profile Embed (US only for now) Any new features you’d like to see? Let me know! 👇🏼 pic.twitter.com/p8mvtJn4kA

These new features make it easier to share Instagram content outside the platform in a high-quality way. This may reflect a “catch up” attempt for Instagram. Twitter has led the way in this regard, and you can see the success of the approach when you look at how often Tweets get embedded in news and blog articles.
This could also be a great way for Instagram influencers to be featured on partner websites.
