LinkedIn is building on last year’s Articles for Pages feature with a new option to subscribe for regular updates.
Subscribers to a company Newsletter will opt-in for on-platform and/or email notifications when new content is published.
The “Follow” option rolled out as part of Creator Mode last year, a suite of tools to encourage personal brand growth and thought leadership centered on personal LinkedIn profiles. Now, Company Pages will have a similar opportunity.
LinkedIn says the benefits of using this feature include:
Driving immediate reach
Sustaining an engaged community
Making it easier to draft and publish long-form content on LinkedIn
This newest Publishing option makes the option to publish longer-form content on LinkedIn a bit more compelling by allowing companies to more directly build an audience.
The question for brands will be if it’s worth the time and effort to duplicate or transfer existing newsletters onto the platform (or to begin their new efforts on LinkedIn rather than, say, Mailchimp).
