Instagram is now expanding the ability to tag products in posts to everyone in the US.
While Creators previously had this ability, the expansion provides an opportunity for shoppable products to reach and engage a wider audience than ever before.
In order to tag a product in a post, you will need to tag a brand in the post first. You’ll then see product tagging options.
According to Tech Crunch, business owners will also receive a notification when one of their products has been tagged. Brands will have the option to revoke tagging abilities as well.
Shopping continues to be a focus for Instagram’s leaders (and those at many other social apps) who want to make it easier for businesses to sell directly on the platform. This Social Commerce trend promises to continue to grow.
