In addition to the classics like Paris or Valencis, you can now find Grainy, Gritty, Halo and more—plus Insta has rolled out several additional editing features just in time for the holidays. Let’s dive in!
This update marks the first major addition of filters in a long time, with a whopping 25 new options now available on iOS. As explained by The Verge, these filters vary from subtle color edits to more expressive styles, offering a fresh creative palette for social media marketers.
The list of new filters includes:

Notably, some filters like 'Wide Angle' and 'Wavy' significantly alter the original images, a departure from Instagram's traditional color and tone adjustments.
This round of Instagram updates didn’t stop at filters.
New Reels features include testing new functionalities like scaling, cropping, rotating individual clips, and adding undo/redo buttons. For content creators, this means more control and flexibility in video editing.
There is also a new Clip Hub feature, allowing users to draw from a curated library of memes and other content.
Additionally, Instagram is introducing 10 new English text-to-speech voices and several new fonts with optional outlines for better readability, available in select countries.
One of the most intriguing additions is the ability to create custom stickers from personal photos and videos in your camera roll, or from eligible content seen on Instagram. This feature, developed using Meta's Segment Anything AI, adds a fun and personalized element to content creation.
For social media marketers, these updates also bring practical benefits. Instagram is streamlining the drafts view, offering quicker access to the audio page in Reels, and providing more detailed data for creators. Over the coming months, Instagram plans to roll out a feature allowing creators to see how many people are watching their Reel on a moment-by-moment basis, offering valuable insights for content strategy.
Finally, new metrics are now available, too: Replays will let you measure repeat views of Reels, and an updated definition of Reels Plays will now also include Replays in addition to Initial Plays. You may notice an increase in your Reels Plays as a result of this.
For social media marketers, these updates represent an evolving landscape in content creation and audience engagement. The new filters and video editing tools provide fresh ways to capture audience attention and express brand identity. The ability to create custom stickers and access detailed viewer data offers innovative avenues for personalization and performance analysis.
