Instagram recently moved away from the “Swipe Up” link style in Stories.
Now, the new Link Sticker is also available to everyone!
According to TechCrunch, the decision to roll this our universally was based on Instagram’s desire to cater to the needs of creators and bussinesses.
We made this decision based on feedback we heard from the community about how impactful it would be for creators and businesses of all sizes to benefit from link sharing to grow in the same way larger accounts do.
Here’s how to use the link stickers:
Capture or upload content to your story
Select the sticker tool from the top navigation bar
Tap the “Link” sticker to add your desired link and tap “Done”
Place the sticker on your story — like our other stickers — and tap on the sticker to see color variations
Story links have, since their inception, been limited to businesses and high-profile creators. This change will make it MUCH easier for small and medium sized businesses to direct traffic from Instagram to their websites and other content.
It’s worth noting, however, that linking from Instagram posts is still a no-go. So don’t get rid of those “Link in bio” strategies just yet.
