LinkedIn recently announced a few new features that are worthy of your attention.
First, job alerts allow users to ask for a notification whenever a company posts a new role. Now, you can also tell the company you’re interested: “we’ll let recruiters at that company know you are interested in opportunities to help increase your chances of hearing from them.“
Here’s how the option would look if you were to turn on Job Alerts for the dooley media LinkedIn Page…

Another user-friendly new feature comes in the form of a new People tab on LinkedIn Pages. Similar to the Alumni section of a college page, this page gives users insights into where employees of a company work, what they do, where they studied, and more. It also includes a tiled list of employees. This appears to have replaced the Employees link that used to take you to a filtered search interface.
Here’s what the new People tab looks like:

Last but not least, here’s an update that may have flown under your radar: you can now post images in LinkedIn comments. Check it out:
Our team is pretty excited for this one: In an effort to make it easier to respond to incoming messages from your community, Instagram Messages can now be managed via the connected Facebook Page Inbox on desktop (and from mobile with the Pages Manager app). Here’s how it works:
This is rolling out in the US and Brazil in the coming weeks.
Here’s another great nod to the growing importance of community management: Facebook is now making it easier for Facebook business pages to interact within groups using the brand identify. From the announcement:
Pages already have the ability to create groups to build their own communities, and in the coming weeks, Pages will be able to participate in Facebook Groups and join community discussions in a way that is representative of their business or organization.

Facebook has been rolling out a lot of features to help build transparency into the platform. The newest addition in a new Page Quality tab for business page managers. Part of the “backend” page management dashboard, this tab will include 2 sections:
Your content that Facebook recently removed for violating Community Standards
Content recently rated “False,” “Mixture” or “False Headline” by third-party fact-checkers
This space will also have the ability to let Facebook know if you think they made an incorrect judgment.

The ability to edit already-published Tweets has been frequently requested for years, and we’ve seen quite a few indications that Twitter is seriously considering it. The most recent indication came from an interview with CEO Jack Dorsey on the Joe Rogan show, as reported by Mashable:
"You could build it as such so maybe we introduce a 5-second to 30-second delay in the sending. And within that window, you can edit. The issue with going longer than that is it takes that real-time nature of the conversational flow out of it."
We know Twitter wants to continue to claim the “What’s Happening” right now throne, so this makes some sense. Maybe a very short editing window is the best we can hope for. Let’s wait and see!
Snapchat has run into countless struggles and challenges over the past year or two, but, as reported in CNBC, Snap was happy to report a stable user base in Q4 2018. The company beat expectations for the first time in a while (or what feels like a century in Social Media world).
The past few months of updates have seen Snap’s business focusing on expanding their footprint with tools like Snap Camera and giving brands cutting-edge access to millennials. From a user perspective, they have been rolling out updates focused on things like “celebrating friendship.” Back in October, CEO Evan Spiegal lamented mistakes such as “compromising our core product value of being the fastest way to communicate.”
We may be witnessing the beginning of a comeback.
